"From a young age I grew up playing competitive sports, where it was made aware to me that what we eat and how much we exercise affects our body's muscle, mind and health. Now as I become more involved with food, I realise even more, how the types of food we eat can affect different aspects of our bodies. I am thrilled to come on board to Healthy Bones Australia, and hope to be able to give useful tips and information on how diet can increase our bone strength so that we are able to live an active life for years to come."
Andy Allen was working as an electrician and looking for a new direction when he entered the MasterChef competition in 2012. While he entered as a longshot, he soon impressed the judges with his growth and determination, and his classic yet creative cooking style saw him take out the winning title.
Post MasterChef Andy has appeared on shows such as Everyday Gourmet, The Project and The Morning Show. He has also demonstrated his cooking prowess at events including MasterChef Live, Sustainable Seafood Day and Taste Sydney. He released his first cookbook, The Next Element in December of 2012, and is currently developing his professional kitchen skills at critically acclaimed Bronte restaurant Three Blue Ducks.
Andy is also an accomplished sportsman, and has previously played basketball for Australia.
