Changes to the food pyramid
Recently Nutrition Australia announced the iconic Healthy Eating Pyramid (that you might remember from school) has changed, with a higher focus on the importance of leafy greens, nuts and legumes.
The middle layer includes milk, yoghurt, and other sources of dairy that are still important because they give us calcium, which is essential for bone health. This food group also includes some non-dairy calcium options such as soy milk. Low-fat milk and yoghurt options still have a lot of calcium in them, perfect for bone health.
