When it comes to osteoporosis, prevention is key! Over 1 million Australians have osteoporosis, yet sadly it is a preventable disease. 

There are three key elements for reducing the risk of developing osteoporosis. These include:

* Calcium

* Vitamin D

* Exercise

It's important to take care of your bone health from a young age so that you can reach optimum bone-density levels by your 20s (the time when peak bone density is reached). Taking care of your bones now, is the best way to avoid getting osteoporosis later in life.
